Style Code 7: Dressing the 'S'
Dress Code Formal's design team has submitted a series of tips for each type of female silhouette. There are 7 different shapes and each Style Code will cover one of the body types. Read all the Style Codes to discover your silhouette and find the perfect bridesmaid dress, evening gown or special occasion dress.
"S" shaped women tend to have quite curvy silhouettes. Women in this category have defined waist and softened shoulders. As well, women with the "S" body type have a balance between bust and hips. This category is typically considered the "luckiest" among women as they tend to look wonderful in everything.
If you fall into this category, DCF design team suggests you try soft skirts with delicate draping or a subtle flare. Try to think Greek Goddess and draping your curves with fabric, rather than hiding them with bulk and stiffness. When searching for a perfect bridesmaid dress or evening gown, try looking for something with a sexy deep v-neck or a strapless with some interest at the bust. Look for pleating or gathering in a vertical direction which will add length and keep the eye moving along with your curves. Feel free to look for styles with waistlines, as they will only enhance your natural hourglass shape.
Do not forget that all of our trims and embellishments are pretty easily removed. We like to make sure that you know you have the option of altering the style of dress if you like the shape, but not a detail. Feel free to browse the DCF accessory section and customize your dress with broaches, handbags, and jewelry sets. By the summer we will also have shoe clips, ribbons, and hair accessories. Being a bridesmaid doesn't mean you have to break the bank and feel uncomfortable. For the first time, Dress Code Formal offers a place to feel free to get a quality bridesmaid dress, fashion-forward styling, and great accessories all at direct-to-you prices!
