Style Code 4: Dressing the 'P'

Dress Code Formal's design team has submitted a series of tips for each type of female silhouette. There are 7 different shapes and each Style Code will cover one of the body types. Read all the Style Codes to discover your silhouette and find the perfect bridesmaid dress, evening gown or special occasion dress.

Women who have narrower hips, and a larger or, proportionally, fuller bust are in the 'P' body type. The idea is to create more shape in your hip area to help balance your figure. We also want to enhance what you have, which is a very nice bust, so try some V-neck styles and princess seams.

Dress Code Formal (DCF) suggests looking for bridesmaid dresses, evening gowns, and special occasion dresses with pleated or gathered skirts. This will help fill out your hips. Also, try a style that has free flowing pleats or have panels. Definitely go for mermaid style skirts (trumpet skirt), which tend to look very elegant and balance out your larger bust. When browsing our bridesmaid dress or evening gown collections, try to focus on styles that draw attention or will make your bottom half appear wider.
