Style Code 2: Dressing the 'H'
Dress Code Formal's design team has submitted a series of tips for each type of female silhouette. There are 7 different shapes and each Style Code will cover one of the body types. Read all the Style Codes to discover your silhouette and find the perfect bridesmaid dress, evening gown or special occasion dress.
Women that have fairly straight figures, a less-defined waist, and equally wide hips and shoulders are in the 'H' body type. Usually, this also includes a smaller or flatter butt.
If you fall into the 'H' silhouette category, Dress Code Formal's design team has several tips to help guide you to the perfect bridesmaid dress or evening gown. First of all, your shape really allows you to be creative and fun with styling, so don't be afraid to try a few or all of these looks. You should go for soft A-line skirts, free-flowing pleats, and tea-length skirts. Each of these will help create more of a shape to your bottom half, adding slight fullness and catching the eye's attention.
DCF also suggests a dropped-waist styling of bridesmaid dress or evening gown. A dropped-waist or a band at your natural waist with a pleated, gathered, or A-line skirt all help cut your body in half and create a more defined middle. In turn, this helps balance the upper and bottom part of your body creating a more proportionate silhouette.
Indulge and have fun with details and embellishments on your bust and hips. The idea is to assist the eye in breaking your body into three sections: your bust, waist, and hips, creating a more appealing hourglass shape. Dress Code Formal has several styles of bridesmaid dresses and evening gowns that are designed with you in mind so take your time and browse our collections. Remember; keep these points in mind while browsing and you'll be the star of the night!
